Course objectives
The aim of the course is to connect the acquired theoretical knowledge about the field of public administration, social policy and social work, as well as other fields, with the reality of the performance of a practising officer or social worker's activities. Students will cement the knowledge of methodological procedures of the work in public administration institutions and in social services which support social inclusion of socially disadvantaged citizens. The internship enables students to verify the knowledge acquired through their study in the field of public administration and social policy, but also to gain material for the production of their bachelor thesis. The result of the practical performance of the students at the workplace where internship takes place will be a detailed written report, which will be continuously consulted with both the internship supervisor at the workplace, and the instructors of the course. Reflection and self-reflection of the students' experience will be the content of supervising meetings in the Supervision of professional practice I. course. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Students will acquire extended knowledge about the aims and tasks of public administration, social policy and social work, and also about professional procedures and ethical principles in these fields. Professional Skills: Students can navigate in the selected areas of public administration and social policy, and understand the issues in relation to the various theoretical concepts. General Qualification: They understand the knowledge acquired during their lessons and can apply them in further studies and in professional practice.
