- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce the issues of public administration, administrative discipline and politics, familiarization with basic theoretical approaches and concepts as well as main development trends of public administration systems in wider social connection. The emphasis will be put also on institutions in public administration, organizational principles and basic models of public administration on local, regional and state level, the creation of European administrative area and reforms of public administration in last decades. In connection, the processes of decision, evaluation and control in state administration and self- administration will be observed as well as administrative policy, personal and ethical issues in the frame of European Union and other countries (USA, Canada, Australia etc.) The tutorial will emphasise chosen issues of state thinking, public power and government, issues of local administration, regionalism and administrative reforms, bureaucracy and ethics in public administration in liberal democracies. The tuition will stress cross-disciplinary character of the course as well as the need of comparative approach and observation of social, juridical and political connections of public administration incidence. The students are able to orient in current administrative systems, institutions and processes, in principal documents and actions of public administration and self-administration in international merit.

- Written exam in a form of a test should prove the students´ knowledge of issues, mentioned at lectures and contained in basic literature. The active participation in tutorials conditions the admittance to exam.
