Course objectives
The objective of the course is to familiarize the student with clinical practice. Students are placed in various clinical settings - primary, secondary and tertiary care facilities, based on the curriculum (see Clinicals Schedule). Clinical practice is supervised by mentors in close co-operation with the Institute of Nursing faculty members in charge of clinical training. (Each faculty member engaged in clinical practice guides students in their core professional area and is responsible for clinical supervision of student nurses.) Clinical placements for student training are selected according to existing standards. The course develops skills in and knowledge of respective clinical settings and departments. During their clinical practice, the student trains in standard wards, intensive care units and specialist nursing units.
