Course objectives (in Czech)

Cílem předmětu je poskytnout studentům základní orientaci v oblasti obecné psychologie, seznámit studenty se základními pojmy používanými při charakteristice jednotlivých psychických procesů, psychických stavů a psychických vlastností člověka, seznámit studenty s psychologií osobnosti jako zastřešující disciplínou, která shrnuje psychologické poznatky o utváření duševního života člověka. Pozornost je současně věnována souvisejícím teoriím osobnosti, determinantům vývoje osobnosti a historii vývoje oboru. Cílem je vytvořit teoretický a praktický základ pro další studium aplikovaných disciplín psychologie, pedagogiky i sociální práce. Semináře v rámci prezenčního studia navazují na přednášky a interaktivním způsobem rozšiřují obsah probíraného učiva. V semináři se studenti aktivně zúčastní společných aktivit, praktických cvičení a zpracovávají seminární práce na základě četby odborné literatury. Cílem seminářů je propojení teorie a praxe, na zážitkových aktivitách prohloubí probíraná témata s kritickým zhodnocením a rozvíjením dovedností.

Syllabus

• 1.Psychology - its formation as an independent science, its objectives and aims, the system of psychological disciplines. The position of Psychology in the science system.
  2.Branches (trends) of modern Psychology.
  3.Psychological Research Methods and Practice, possibilities and principles of their use.
  4.The basic terms of General Psychology (mind, mind´s content, processes and states, behavior and experiencing).
  5.Cognitive system of Personality. Sensory processes. Perception. Vigilance. Changes in the processes in (in the course of) aging (of a man).
  6. Cognitive system of Personality. Memory, imaginations and phantasy. Changes in the processes in (in the course of) aging (of a man).
  7.Cognitive system of Personality. Thinking, intelligence. Changes in the processes in (in the course of) aging (of a man).
  8.Personality Psychology. The term "I/me". Endogenous and exogenous personality theory.
  9.Internal and external sources of formation and development of Personality. Structure and dynamics of Personality, Content analysis of Personality. Changes in the processes in (in the course of) aging (of a man).
  10.Typology of Personality. An overview of the main constitutional and psychological typologies of Personality.
  11.Activation-motivation qualities of Personality (motivation, needs, interests, aspiration).
  12. Emotions and their meaning in a man´s life. Determination, types of emotions, functions of emotions.

Requirements for students
Attendance at lectures is recommended, seminars are compulsory.
Seminar work (at least 10 pages) according to the selected topic approved by the teacher. A minimum success rate is 75 percent. Exam: Written test.
