- Course objectives
- The aim is to understand basic knowledge of the topics below with the emphasis on the individual but at the same time holictic approach when influencing an individual or a group. The course deals with the pitfalls associated with human sexuality. Examines issues from the perspective of society (media coverage of the commercialization of sex), teaching (sexual enlightenment versus sexual education, methods of work with individual groups), medicine (contraception, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases, especially HIV / AIDS, sexual deviance) and legal (legal basis , child abuse, sexual aggression, etc.). The concept of the course is prepared for the widest practical use in educational counseling. Moreover, the theoretical basis for a collection of practical advice and guidance, how to proceed both in specific situations professionally and methodically (including compliance with the law). The course allows for further understanding and being familiar with the basic terminology and position on selected social manifestations of sexual behavior. A special aspect of the course is a presentation of selected issues from the history of human sexuality.
- Syllabus
- 1. Human sexuality, the definition of basic concepts. Development of views on the manifestations of sexual behavior in the past. Current societal trends (media coverage and commercialization of sex) on the questions.
2. Sexual enlightenment versus sexual education. Current guidelines for sexual education. Sexual education: a basic definition.
3. The content of sexual education - specify for each age category. Methods and means of sexual education.
4. Themes introducing sexual education into intentional education. Principles of sexual education.
5. Recent trends in contraception and contraceptive behavior. The strategy for appropriate choice of contraception for different groups - practical recommendations. News in male and female contraception.
6. Medical and legal aspects of abortion.
7. Sexually transmitted diseases. HIV / AIDS.
8. Sexual aggression and its forms (sexual abuse, rape, torture, etc.) - basic medical and legal analysis of issues.
9. Paraphilia - an overview. Prostitution, pornography as socially undesirable behaviors with sexual overtones.
10. Specifics of sexuality different groups of children with disabilities and the specifics of sex education, and education. Working with parents of handicapped children.
11. Sex and the paragraphs - the legal minimum.
12. Educational counseling - addressing violations and offenses.
13. Concept of sexual education in the last century after the establishment of Czech Republic
