The subject further delineates primary care and the so-called first-contact practitioners, i.e., the physicians who bring the health care closer to citizens, insured persons or patients in their places of residence and workplaces. Conditions for providing fully reimbursed, partly reimbursed and out-of-pocket covered services in the public health insurance system are explained along with legislative processes, organisation of health care, transformation in the CR after 1989 related to privatization processes, and issues concerning medical and non-medical health professions. Mechanisms of quality control in health care are discussed together with the role of the state and health insurance companies, issues related to review medicine and the position of physician reviewers and health care workers entitled to professional audits in the health insurance system.
