Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of crisis communication.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: -theoretically describe the key parts of crisis communication, -appropriately apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to a specific case.
Syllabus
  • 1. Crisis communication, crisis and its consequences Nature, definition, psychology of crisis situations, relation to other disciplines. Development, types of crises, circumstances of occurrence. 2. Needs and reactions of people in crisis situations, reputation of the organization Types of emotional states and their reflection in a specific communication situation. Dynamics of needs and interests in a crisis situation, reputation as a communication filter. 3. Employees in crisis communication, Internet crisis communication Correct setting of crisis communication in a crisis situation. Crisis website, role of social media. 4. Assertive communication, negotiation in crisis situations Characteristics, definitions, practical examples. Nature of negotiation, types of negotiation, practical examples. 5. Media communication in crisis situations, crisis communication in pressure situations Role, importance, practical examples. Essence, types, practical examples. 6.
