Considerable attention will be paid to transition processes in the economy, both in general terms and in specific Czech (Czechoslovak) terms and successes and failures of Czech economy during its transition from a centrally planned economy to a market economy will be widely discussed. Attention will be also paid to the further development of the Czech economy after transition to a market economy, which was completed by the adoption of the Czech Republic to the EU. The current economic situation in the Czech Republic will be also discussed. The focus is to deepen students' knowledge of Czech life and institutions.
