Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives (in Czech)
The aim is to deepen the knowledge of information usage, to exercise methods of information entry, selection, modification, and output. Application of simple economic tasks using known program means (spreadsheet, database system) and data integration.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • 1. Introduction to spreadsheets.
    2. Basic operations.
    3. Spreadsheet editing and print.
    4. Charts.
    5. Complementary operations.
    6. Drawing and using the files.
    7. Lists.
    8. Analytical tools.
    9. Introduction to database system Access.
    10. Database structure.
    11. Queries.
    12. Forms and reports.
    13. Macro-commands
    1. Introduction to spreadsheets.
    Spreadsheets philosophy and overview, general information on spreadsheet structure and possibilities of their usage.
    2. Basic operations.
    Basic operations. Using worksheets - files, data, and cell identification. Formula creation, functions.
    3. Spreadsheet editing and print.
    Worksheet formatting. Changing the line and column dimension. Cell formatting, using the styles, printing, parameters of print.
    4. Charts.
    Creation of charts. Editing line and column dimensions, using of styles, chart editing, formation of trends, printouts of charts.
    5. Complementary operations
    Sums, series, finding and replacement of string, finding the cell, re-calculation of a worksheet, circular reference.
    6. Drawing and using the files
    Drawing in a worksheet, inserting of picture, changes in worksheet view, more on using the files, data imports, data protection, and data sharing.
    7. Lists.
    Using lists, List overview, sorting lists by keys, data selection, creation of aggregations, file merge, using external databases, contingency table.
    8. Analytical tools
    Analytical tools, reversed solutions, sensibility analysis, scenarios, procedures for data analysis, macro-commands.
    9. Introduction to database system Access
    Database programs philosophy and overview. Database concept. Database programs, their placement and characteristics. General information on structure and usage of database programs. Basics of database creation. Relational database, its definition, database creation scheme, modules of MS Access - table, form, query, macro-command, data resources, reports.
    10. Database structure
    Database structure definition and its modifications. Using database tables, table wizard, manual creation of a table, editing database records, column width and sequence change, copying and pasting, finding of data, sorting, filtering.
    11. Queries
    Simple query in one table, calculations, querying in more tables, different items search, aggregations and und using cross-reference queries for aggregations, action queries.
    12. Forms and reports
    Basic methods of forms creation, manual design and creation of a form, creation of form using more tables, further means of form modification, using pictures, using charts, etc. Reports presentation, creation of report using wizard, manual report design and modification.
    13. Macro-commands
    Automation using macro-commands. Basic activities concerning macro-commands- creation, modification, conditions, debugging, examples of macro-commands.
