Course objectives (in Czech)
Making the students acquainted with the theory of management, its philosophical and social economical basis, the historical aspects of the management. It deals with the integrated concept, including all entrepreneurial activities and micro-economical areas. The history of late 19th and 20th century will be mentioned with the consequences to the behaviour of the companies. The conditions for establishing the big companies will be presented. The approach of the management theories in different types of managing will be explained. There will be presented the situation of the global market and the influence of the corporations in the end of 20th and the beginning of 21st century.
Syllabus
  • Making the students acquainted with the theory of management, its philosophical and social economical basis, the historical aspects of the management. It deals with the integrated concept, including all entrepreneurial activities and micro-economical areas. The history of late 19th and 20th century will be mentioned with the consequences to the behaviour of the companies. The conditions for establishing the big companies will be presented. The approach of the management theories in different types of managing will be explained. There will be presented the situation of the global market and the influence of the corporations in the end of 20th and the beginning of 21st century.

    6. Role of the international trade, WTO. Globalization tendencies
    7. Services in the modern society. The service as the value making force
    8. The information, technological innovations, intellectual property rights
    9. Role of the strategic management in the modern corporation
    10. The Japan, US and European style in managing the company
    11. Global economic map, strategic approach of the companies. Targeting new areas
    12. The corporation activities and the vision to the 21st century world.

The course can also be completed outside the examination period.
Teacher's information
The working out of the project or essay according to the teacher's specifications. The topic will be assigned within the 3rd week following the beginning of the lessons. The handing in of the project by the end of the credit week. The condition for being admitted to the exam is the handing in of the project, its assessment is part of the total assessment of the student in the given subject. The course is concluded either by the written or verbal exam.
