Course objectives
The course sets itself a task to make students familiar with the specifications of entrepreneurship in SMEs, as early as in a phase of the creation of the plan, the selection of the locality, the size of the enterprise, along with its operation. It proceeds from the standard conception of the SME in the EU, theory and practice in the Czech Republic and EU. The student is able to design, write and present a business plan (for a service) based on customers' needs and including a proper assessment of profitability. The student is able to use relevant business terms.

  • 1. The significance of small and medium sized enterprises, its definition and functions.
    2. The use of the networks in the entrepreneurship of small and Medium sized enterprises.
    3. The support of small and medium sized entrepreneurship in the selected countries of the EU and in the Czech Republic..
    4. Municipal government and small and medium sized enterprises.
    5. Establishing small and medium sized enterprises, evaluating the dissimilarities and procedures in the EU countries and in the Czech Republic.
    6. Business plan of small and medium sized enterprises, principles of its creation.
    7. Entrepreneurs as employers and employees, principles of enumeration and motivation.
    8. Management style of the small enterprise.
    9. The performance of small and medium sized enterprises.
    10. The impact of the outer and inner factors on the outcomes of the economic activity.
    11. Social Entrepreneurship versus Corporate Entrepreneurship.
