Course objectives
The course is designed to acquaint students with basic models, concepts, methods and architecture of e-business and e-commerce systems.
Syllabus
  • 1. Information Society. Global Information Society. Subjects of information and global information infrastructure. Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Internet. Intranet.
    2. Electronic business and commerce (e-business, e-commerce). Initial conditions for e-business (legislative, technological, personal, social, etc.). Process definition of electronic business and commerce.
    3. Internet shop. Internet marketplace. Structure of Internet shop and marketplace. Business models. Member and ownership models. Methods of pricing on the internet marketplaces.
    4. E-business system. E-business systém architecture. Information flow. Customer oriented systems.
    5. Customer environment. Target groups. Relationship vendor & customer. Advantages and disadvantages of e-business and e-commerce for customers and vendors. Communication interface. Identification of trading subjects.
    6. ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management). Structure and functions of ERP and CRM in e-business. Modules of ERP and CRM.
    7. Elektronic Payment Systems (EPS). Basic components. Fundamental technology of EPS.
    8. Supply Chain and Logistics. Supply Chain Management SCM. Supply Chain Optimization.
    9. Value of products and services. Value chain and virtual value chain (VC, VVC).
    10. Security of e-business and e-commerce. Risk management in e-business and e-commerce. Data security. electronic signature.
    11. Methods of measuring the effectiveness of e-business. Benefits of e-business for the company. Methods and tools that support the effectiveness of e-business.
    12. Business Intelligence (BI). BI usage in e-business. BI as a part of contemporary ERP and CRM.
    13. Trends of development of e-business and e-commerce. Expected e-business models in the future.
