- Course objectives
- The course is designed to acquaint students with working with data and information with main focus on input, selection, modification, analysis and output of data and information. Students will gain the ability to apply simple task of economic character using spreadsheet and database system.
- Syllabus
- 1. Spreadsheet. Information about the structure and possibilities of using spreadsheets in corporate practice.
2. Workbooks and sheets. Data file. Table and list. Identification of cells. Creation of formulas. Functions.
3. Cell formatting. Tables formatting. Styles. Print output settings. Graphic objects in cells and sheets.
4. Working with lists. Automatic and advanced filter. Subtotals. Pivot table.
5. Charts. Types of charts. Sources of data and data series. Charts formatting. Export of charts. Trendline.
6. Analysis tools. Goal Seek. What-If Analysis. Procedures for data analysis. Macro recording and editing.
7. Practical tasks of usage of the spreadsheet program for solving typical examples of corporate practices.
8. The characteristics of database programs and their usage. Database. The basics of creating databases. Relational Database. Modules of MS Access.
9. Tables. Tables editting. Tables format. Sort records. Filters. Relations. Referential integrity.
10. Queries. Simple Query Wirazd. Parameter Query. Find Query Wizard. Crosstab Query Wizard. Action Queries (Make Table, Append, Update, Delete).
