Syllabus
  • 1. History of the European community and of the European Union, founding treaties and other treaties (the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the European Economic Community (EEC), the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom), The Merger Treaty, The Single European Act, The Treaty on European Union – The Treaty of Maastricht, The Treaty of Amsterdam, The Treaty of Nice, The Lisbon Treaty), principle of supranational and principle of subsidiarity. 2. Institutional framework of the European Union (The European Commission, The Council of European Union, European Council, European Parliament, The Court of Justice of the European Union). 3. Sources of the European Union Law. Primary law, secondary law (regulations and directives). Legislative process. 4. Enforcement of the EU law and other various types of actions (action for annulment, action for failure to act, action for damages). 5. Interpretation of EU law. The preliminary ruling procedures. 6. The internal market. Free movement of goods. EU trade mark. Free movement of persons. Free movement of services. Free movement of capital. The social security law of the EU and labour law of the EU. 7. Other important selected legal fields in the European union law (protection of competition in the EU, environmental protection in the EU, consumer protection in the EU).
