Course objectives
The course sets itself a task to make students familiar with the specifications of entrepreneurship in SMEs, as early as in a phase of the creation of the plan, the selection of the locality, the size of the enterprise, along with its operation. It proceeds from the standard conception of the SME in the EU, theory and practice in the Czech Republic and EU. 1. The significance of small and medium sized enterprises, its definition and functions. The comparison of the state, development and current position of small and medium sized entrepreneurship in the Czech Republic and in the EU 2. The use of the networks in the entrepreneurship of small and medium sized enterprises, examples in the EU, and comparison with the state in the Czech Republic 3. The support of small and medium sized entrepreneurship in the selected countries of the EU and in the Czech Republic, factors influencing a successful entry into the market. Industrial policy in the Czech Republic, its basic classification and tools. The implication of globalization of the economic processes and industrial policy 4. Municipal government and small and medium sized enterprises, contractual relation between the enterprise and environment, the use of the non-residential spaces and further conditions for the development of entrepreneurship 5. Establishing small and medium sized enterprises, evaluating the dissimilarities and procedures in the EU countries and in the Czech Republic. The most common legal forms of SMEs 6. Business plan of small and medium sized enterprises, principles of its creation. Examples of establishing trades, micro-companies small and medium sized enterprises 7. Entrepreneurs as employers and employees, principles of enumeration and motivation. HR work in the small and medium sized enterprise, the profile of the manager, self-motivation 8. The importance of managerial skills and knowledge of the essentials in economics and law for entrepreneurship 9. Management activities and corporate culture as a significant factor of in-house management. Management style of the small enterprise 10. The performance of small and medium sized enterprises, methods and indicators for evaluating the performance 11. The impact of the outer and inner factors on the outcomes of the economic activity. The essence and significance of economic tools for managing the economy in the SME 12. The characteristics and social significance of non-profit organizations
