Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about the functioning of the labour market, both from a theoretical point of view and in terms of implemented practice. It affects the main aspects of the labour market as one of the markets of factors of production. It explains in detail the issue of labour supply and labour demand, wage differentials, the effect of unions on labour market and state intervention in the labour market. A large part is devoted to the issue of unemployment that represents a serious microeconomic and macroeconomic problem in many countries. Attention is also paid to the issue of the employment policy in the EU and in the Czech Republic.
