- Course objectives
- Based on passing a placement test at the beginning of the course, the aim of the course is to make the students deal with the language phenomena that seem to be problematic for them. In addition, correct reading and pronunciation of selected mathematic expressions and formulae are to be practiced in order to improve the students´ spoken English.
- Syllabus
- The course programme is to be selected according to the particular students´ results reached in a placement test taken at its beginning. As for general English, the following is to be dealt with: word order in sentences, typical Czech pronunciation mistakes, overview and usage of verbal tenses, prepositions, etc. As for specialized language, selected mathematical expressions and formulae are to be practiced from the viewpoint of their pronunciation and correct reading.
