This course is focused on the literary analysis of short stories from English-speaking countries. Participants will explore a wide range of short fiction by key British and American authors, while examining the themes, stylistic techniques, and cultural contexts of these works.

The course will cover:

  • Analysis of literary techniques such as narrative structure, symbolism, tone, and characterization.
  • Examination of the historical and social contexts that influenced the authors' works.
  • Exploration of the cultural and regional differences in short story writing across various English-speaking countries.
  • Discussions on literary theories and their application in the analysis of short stories.

This course emphasizes critical thinking and textual interpretation. By the end of the course, participants will be able to conduct in-depth literary analyses and gain a deeper understanding of the role short stories play in the broader literary traditions of English-speaking countries.
