Preparation of the study program, field of study and their subsequent implementation is entrusted to the Institute of Central European Studies on the Faculty of Public Policies in Opava. Its regular staff in the long term and thoroughly are engaged in their research and publishing issues of Czech and Czechoslovak history in the 20th century in Central and Eastern European context, particularly focusing on the issues of the evolution of nationalities and national minorities and ethnically mixed regions of Central Europe and the history of totalitarian regimes, political persecution and compensation of it´s victims. Research activities are linked to the Silesian Institute in Opava, where many of them previously worked.
Institute scientists work closely with experts from other departments of the Faculty of Public Policies and with the Faculty of Philosophy and Science in Opava Silesian University in Opava, especially with the Institute of Historical Sciences.
