The course responds to current challenges related to the rapid development of generative AI, the spread of misinformation and the growing need for analytical and digital competencies among university students. The main objective of the programme is to strengthen students’ ability to critically evaluate information, interpret statistical data and use AI tools in a reflective and responsible manner that supports independent thinking and academic integrity. The programme also introduces innovative teaching and assessment approaches in higher education and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among students from different academic fields.
  • Target group
The course is primarily intended for students of the Faculty of Public Policies of the Silesian University in Opava across all study programmes offered at the faculty. The programme is particularly suitable for students in fields related to helping professions, public administration, social work, special education, health-related disciplines and other social sciences. Due to its interdisciplinary character, the course is open to all students of the faculty who are interested in developing their ability to critically work with information, data and artificial intelligence tools and who wish to apply these competencies in their studies and future professional practice.

  • Course of education
The programme is delivered as an intensive international summer school organized at the Faculty of Public Policies of the Silesian University in Opava. The course takes place during a five-day teaching block that combines expert lectures, interactive workshops, group work and practical activities focused on working with data and artificial intelligence tools. The teaching is delivered by both domestic and international lecturers from partner universities and focuses on the practical application of acquired knowledge in academic and professional contexts.
  • Conditions of graduation
Successful completion of the programme requires at least 80% active participation in individual teaching sessions and engagement in group activities throughout the summer school.
