Cílem předmětu je seznámení s významnými oblastmi služeb dodávání dokumentů. Vychází se z popisu tradičních metod užití knihovních materiálů a postupně je sledován jeho historický vývoj k samotnému zrodu a principům dodávání dokumentů. Samostatně jsou popsány terminologické, technické a technologické aspekty služeb dodávání dokumentů.
