- Course objectives
- Series of seminars follows on topics presented in the fall semester and continuing problems of artistic blacksmithing, goldsmithery and silversmithery. The aim is a practical introduction to the basic knowledge of technological, artistic and stylistic development of an artistic blacksmithing, goldsmithery and silversmithery in a historical context, the basic goldsmith's marks and hallmarks and some selected problems. The related issues of historical furniture, including the presentation of basic typology of furniture and basic techniques and processes in art-historical development are also added.

- 1. Basic technological processes and artistic blacksmithing tools.
2. Basic artistic and stylistic development of artistic blacksmithing in Renaissance.
3. Basic artistic and stylistic development of artistic blacksmithing in Baroque.
4. Basic artistic and stylistic development of artistic blacksmithing in Rococo.
5. Basic artistic and stylistic development of artistic blacksmithing in Classicism.
6. Basic artistic and stylistic development of artistic blacksmithing of Art Nouveau.
7. Basic goldsmith and silversmith techniques, basic concepts of goldsmithery and silversmithery, examples of artworks of Opava goldsmiths
8. Historical furniture, basic materials, technology, basic typology of historical furniture
9. Fundamentals of art-historical development of furniture from the late Renaissance to the modern furniture around 1900 in the Central European context.
