Seminář je zaměřen na systematické rozvíjení dovedností v psaní různých útvarů v cílovém jazyce. Předmět volně navazuje na writing skills, v němž jsou probírány základní dovednosti písemného projevu. V předmětu Academic writing I je cílem zvládnout práci s rozsáhlejšími soubory informací a tvůrčím a korektním způsobem je zpracovávat v písemném projevu. Sylabus semináře: 1. Thesis statement, outline and paragraph structure 2. Collecting, plannning, developing ideas for the body 3. Transitional words and phrases 4. Writing and rewriting the draft 5. Language awareness (spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary) 6. Coherence and cohesion, consistency 7. Documentation and interpretation of data, organization of secondary material 8. Editing, revising and proofreading 9. Drawing conclusions, writing a summary (an abstract) 10. Writing letters 11. 11. Explanation, illustration, description 12. 12.
