Course objectives
The aim of the course in the winter term is introduce the course participants into camera field issues which will provide a basis for the following practical courses. The students get acquainted with the essentials of a simple cinema message while emphasizing shot sequencing and its composition, light and dynamics. Options and style of the camera - trendy or lasting features. Principals of TV shooting in particular TV genres, TV recording technology. Screenplay writing. Consulting the screenplay, interpretation of particular shots. Analyses of film image styles. Lighting in the film studio, types of light sources in use, lighting during the daylight - dusk - dawn - night. Capturing an actor in light and in move, selecting a shot scope in relation to their body language. Advertising, documentary.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • 1. Možnosti a styl kameramanské práce - módnost, nadčasovost.
    2. Principy televizního snímání v jednotlivých televizních žánrech, televizní snímací technika.
    3. Příprava scénáře.
    4. Konzultace scénáře, obrazové vyjádření jednotlivých záběrů.
    5. Rozbory stylů filmového obrazu..
    6. Osvětlování v ateliéru, druhy používaných světelných zdrojů, osvětlení den - podvečer - svítání - noc.
    7. Zobrazení herce ve světle a v pohybu, volba velikosti záběru vzhledem k "řeči těla".
    8. Reklama, dokument, TV media.
    9. Projekce denních prací studentů, jejich hodnocení a příprava hrubého materiálu ke střihu.
    10. Historický vývoj oboru.
    11. Varianty střihových technologií.
    12. Varianty zpracování obrazu projektů natáčených filmovou technologií.
    13. Zpracování videa pořízeného elektronickou technologií Betacam ve dvou stupních - off line např. Avid, on-line lineární střih.
    14. Zpracování videa formátu miniDV a DVCAM v systému XpressDV.
    15. Střihové skladba - klíčový prvek v řetězci realizace filmu.
