- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to strengthen and deepen the achieved English language knowledge and skills and to extend the lexical system of English in the field of cultural and natural heritage tourism, and to provide a basic overview in the area of cultural background studies and main tourist destinations of selected European countries in English. The individual lectures will introduce main tourist attractions and UNESCO sites of particular countries, i.e. geography and natural beauties, history, architectural heritage, and important personalities. The main aim is to inform students of cultural studies characterising given countries, of the most visited natural, cultural and social attractions as well as to widen and deepen their language skills especially in the area of understanding spoken and written English texts. At the same time, the course aims at strengthening the competences of students and their use of language in communication in a conscious and confident way, both in terms of fluency and accuracy. All the mentioned topics will be extensively discussed and individual presentations will be devoted to particular issues.

3. Romania, the untouched country of mountains, lakes, castles and monasteries
4. Slovenia, the small forested country with ancient history
5. Croatia - nature, beaches, culture, heritage and gastronomy
6. Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country of virgin nature and ancient monuments
7. Serbia - beautiful country, rich history, splendid monuments
8. Montenegro, the country of beautiful mountains, beaches and national parks
9. Macedonia, a mixture of Islamic and Orthodox cultures
10. Bulgaria - golden beaches, impressive mountains and rich culture
11. Albania, the country of eagles and bunkers
12. Greece, the country of gods and ancient legends
