Course objectives
This course is intented for the students who need to solidify their knowledge of the system of the English grammar. The course focuses on the individual word classes and various English grammatical categories and aspects which in various ways differ from the Czech grammatical system. The second aim of this course is for the students to acquire systematic as well as practical knowledge of English sytax. Emphasis is on their understanding of syntactic terminology and their ability to apply their knowledge when syntactically analyzing English sentences and texts.
