Prerequisites
The lecture course provides a basic orientation in the development of Czech and Czechoslovak historiography in relation to the general developmental features of European and world historiography. The student will gain a reasonable idea and specific knowledge about the development of historiography in individual thematic and chronological sections (eg medieval legends, fraternal historiography, Goll's school, Marxist historiography, etc.), as well as the current state of processing individual key historical topics (eg literature and beginnings). Czech state, literature on the Hussites, on the economic history of the 19th century, Czech state law, minority issues, World War II, the communist system, etc.). The interpretation should lead to an independent study of literature and deepening of knowledge of the history of Czech thought and its reflection in historiography (eg Enlightenment, Romanticism, positivism, Marxism, etc.). An overview of the personalities of leading historians and their work is required.
