- Course objectives
- The aim of teaching this course is to introduce the students to the basics of the field of editing and to provide them with feedback for the activities of a cinematographer in addition to the basic experience of working in the editing room. The course includes working with basic editing software used in post-production practice.
- Learning outcomes
- The basic functions of editing composition, the rules of editing composition - grammar, shot properties, conditions of compositional shooting, pre-shooting unities, these are the basic concepts with which the students of this course will get acquainted.
- Syllabus
- Theoretical variants of cut work. Linear and non-linear electronic editing, historical development of the field. - Technical minimum of classical film editing technology. Modern professional high-resolution image recording with digital data recording. - Processing of video taken by electronic technology in two stages, off-line and on-line non-linear editing. - Theory of editing, practical editing of audiovisual work as a key element in the post-production of a film or television programme. - Differences in editing work in feature film, documentary, commercials, live broadcast and new AV media. Effect of display size - projection (from multiplex to phone display), viewer disposition. - Projection of students' daily work, its evaluation and analysis with a view to feedback for cinematography.
