Course objectives
Objectives: The aim of the course is to introduce the issues of special pedagogical diagnostics in pupils with special educational needs. Special pedagogical diagnostics is part of intervention activities and is also accompanied by the process of counselling, the examination of which is also part of the course. The course includes not only theoretical principles and information about current diagnostic strategies in special pedagogy and counselling, but also knowledge about practice.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: - the student can characterize special education diagnostics in the broader and narrower context of its contents - the student is familiar with the terms used in special education diagnostics - the student can outline diagnostic tools and materials in the general special education level and in individual disciplines of special education Professional skills: - the student can use orientation diagnostic methods and procedures - the student can use and apply some diagnostic methods - the student can purposefully apply such work procedures that lead to a correct understanding of the situation of a pupil with a disability General competencies: - the student applies modifications of special education diagnostic methods - the student evaluates special education intervention based on correctly performed diagnostics

Main areas of diagnostics in special education 5. Play and drawing as diagnostic situations 6. Diagnostics of school maturity and readiness for school 7. Diagnostics of professional orientation 8. Diagnostics in early childhood 9. Diagnostics in preschool age 10. Diagnostics in school age 11. Diagnostics in adolescence 12. Diagnostics in adulthood and old age
