Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
This subject is aimed at enlargement of knowledge in the frame of general English and specialized English. The plan of the course is based on presumption that the students have already studied English at least as the second language. This knowledge will form the basis and the aim is to develop the students in the area of reading with comprehension, listening with comprehension, conversation, use of English (in this part, the word stock will be widen with focus on word building and the ability to use grammatical rules will be developed) and according to time capacity, the writing will be included. The basic textbook is New Success at First Certificate which is the preparation for internationally respected exam FCE and is structured in order to include all five levels of the language in each unit. Inseparable part of this subject is specialised English. The topics will correspond to specialization of the students. This section will be focused only on ability to communicate and development of word stock to given topic and is composed as a super-structure part of the whole course. The materials will be chosen from various sources, e.g. from newspaper articles. The communication will be stressed in the course. The conversation and listening topics will be treated in accordance with basic textbook. The following part "Structure of the course" includes five conversational topics, five grammatical topics and two specialized topics
