Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide the students with socially-pathological phenomena which occur in society, adoption of elementary concepts of social pathology as a scientific discipline dealing with their study in the field of social deviations also recognition and analysis of causes and consequences in general. The subject reflects nowadays current issues in the area of socially-pathological phenomena of children, adolescents as well as adults. The focus is put on prevention of socially pathological behaviour and acting in all its forms.
Learning outcomes
Interpretation of basic concepts - social pathology, social deviation, social norms, anomie, eufunction and dysfunction. Traditional views on deviant behaviour; types and classification of social deviations; functions of social deviations in society. Normative and reactive concept of social deviation. Biological, psychological and sociological theories of deviant behaviour - the most important representatives and approaches.
