- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to develop communication skills in the English language (written and spoken) in the field of medical communication, to introduce students to the professional terminology of dentistry and dental hygiene and also to situations that may occur in the profession of dental hygienist. The course includes practice in basic language skills (primarily speaking, but also listening, reading, and translating) with emphasis on comprehension of professional text and the ability to communicate in situations specific to the health care profession. Upon completion of the course, the student will be familiar with common medical terms, medical documentation, and be able to respond in a variety of situations relevant to the profession.

3. Anatomy of the head and oral cavity
4. Dental anatomy and vocabulary (types of teeth, temporary and permanent dentition, teething)
5. Dental problems (dental problems and diseases, symptoms, anomalies)
6. Outpatient clinic (patient intake, personal data, medical and family history)
7. Dental care instruments, medical technology and imaging methods (vocabulary)

- Assessment methods
- The course is completed by exam, which will take the form of a seminar presentation - a given medical topic prepared in the form of a PPT or a frontal/interactive oral presentation. The condition for the award of exam is at least 80% attendance at the class.
