Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present not only theoretical way outs in regional development but on concrete examples explain importance, structure and process of composition of development programme of the town, region. The attention will be put on economic analysis, SWOT, previous experience with development programmes, presumptions and problems of region, town in order that gained knowledge would be usable in practice. The course is based on the presumption of knowledge of fundamental legislative frame composed of Act on municipalities (act No 128/2000 Coll.) and Act on support of regional development (Act No 248/2000 Coll.) together with basic knowledge of reforms of public administration in the Czech republic. The active finding of information and their critical evaluation directly in tutorials will be the condition of passing the subject. This interactively lead teaching connects not only theoretical and practical skills of the course but also motivates students to perform actively, to present their own opinion and cope critically with the amount of available literature and documents. The course is intended for students of study programme N6731 only.

Teacher's information
The students will in groups under their own selection of region or town compose own proposal of development programme which they will present in the final tutorial which will simulate competitive environment. The results of this seminar work will be used for complete evaluation of the course in oral exam which will be dedicated to more theoretical applications corresponding to master level of difficulty.
