Prerequisites
Methodically created set of 10 games for children aged 6 to 15 years applicable in different settings (youth hostel, after-school club, school club, leisure center, etc.). Each set of games will be submitted in writing. The deadline is 4 weeks before the Examinations period. Evaluation will be based on clarity, descriptions of games , applicability. Students who fail the assignment will have the Games returned for revision. Preparation and approval of individual tasks and group participation in the mandatory consultation is required to obtain credit.

Course objectives
LECTURE Lectures are focused on topics that are linked to professional educators. Students will gain an overview of the importance of pedagogical activity, educated individuals, institutions, organizations, etc. The specifics of their individual institutions are the determining factors for their own pedagogical work in them. Students will learn about the terminology relating to pedagogy - educators, school nurseries, school clubs, youth hostels, educational care center , etc. Pedagogy is closely linked to education and pedagogy in a broader sense. All information is closely linked with the the graduate's profile and focuses on the field of social pathology and prevention. SEMINAR Information obtained in the seminars are applicable to students in their practice, as well as professional life. Topics of seminars are based on the practical parts of the educator in diverse environments that deal with pedagogical activities.
Syllabus
  • LECTURE
    1. Education and pedagogy - science profile (content, subject research, terminology, methodology).
    2. History of pedagogy - after-school educational activities in the concept of da Feltre, Comenius, Pestalozzi, Makarenko.
    3. Problems of socialization and work of educators (educational advisor) in the educational process.
    4. The development of an educated person in leisure activities (use of experiential education)
    5. Education outside the classes - functions, goals, dimension, current concepts.
    6. Factors of development of educated individuals - family, environment, genetics, and other groups, media.
    7. The social environment of educational institutions - youth hostels, children´s home, after-school club, school club.
    8. Intentional and functional forms of education in selected educational institutions (hostels, educational care center).
    9. Management of selected institutions devoted to pedagogical activities.
    10. Theersonality of educators - typology, responsibilities, risks associated with pedagogic activities.
    SEMINAR1. Safety in the implementation of leisure time activities.
    2. Leisure time activities in the after-school club - Processing of an action plan for 1 week.
    3. Preventive activities in the youth hostel plan with a focus on youth bullying
    4. Organizing tournaments in a youth hostel, educational care center - game systems, methods of processing and interpretation of rules.
    5. Solving the problem of truancy from the position of youth hostel tutor.
    6. Solving the problem of aggression from a position of youth hostel tutor .
    7. Solving the problem of petty crime from the position of youth hostel tutor .
    8. Determination of the regime in children's homes..
    9. Working with the group - to change the social dynamics of the group.
    10. Prevention of burn-out syndrome in the educator.
    11. Developement of communication skills for educators.
