- Expert Knowledge:
Students demonstrate language and factual knowledge within the topic areas listed in the Topics Covered section. Students dispose of the required amount of terminology that enables them to communicate on the given topic with expert public.
Expert Skills:
Students are able to use relevant English vocabulary on receptive (reading, listening) and productive (writing, speaking) levels. They are able to work with professional literature of their field and to translate expert texts at an intermediate level.
General Competency:
Students are able to communicate effectively in English language in the area defined by their field of study. They are able to understand texts in a foreign language and to enter general communication with sufficient range of vocabulary and grammar skills.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to make students familiar with geographical, historical, social, legal, organizational, language and other characteristics of European space in English language and to equip students with basic terminology necessary for communication within given topic areas. The content of the subject is focused on particular aspects of European history and present, with the emphasis on terminology related to the other subjects of student´s university course. At the same time, a textbook with grammar and lexical exercises is used. On the completion of the subject, students will be able to orient themselves in the factual and language issues of selected topics related to European region in diachronic and synchronic perspectives.

- Credit requirements: active seminar participation with the minimum attendance of 90%, presentation on the given topic (microteaching), a specialized text translation of 1-2 pages, credit test ( Pass Rate is 80%).
