Course objectives
The course goal consists in familiarizing the students with physiotherapist work in order to achieve better cooperation and understanding between the nurse and the physiotherapist. The course describes individual rehabilitation procedures and extends theoretical and practical skills in the area of physiotherapy, which is an indispensable part of support to health and prevention of complications during disease. After passing the course, the student will be well versed in the issues of physiology and pathophysiology of motor system, movement control, acute and chronic pains, fitness exercise, breath gymnastics, positioning, verticalization and walking training, relaxation techniques, physical therapy, ...
Syllabus
  • 1. Muscle system from the perspective of macro-changes and micro-changes.
    2. Motor system - physiology and pathophysiology.
    3. Movement control.
    4. Pain.
    5. Physical therapy.
    6. Fitness exercise, use of different forms of fitness exercise for different age groups.
    7. Breath gymnastics. Practical training in different positions, alternative forms of breath exercises.
    8. Training of passive movement, training of position change and positioning.
    9. Training of verticalization, walking types, use of support.
    10. Training of relaxation.
    11. Training of individual operations in the area of physical therapy during a trip to rehabilitation facility.
    12. Classical therapeutic massage.
    13. Definition of balneology, procedures from natural mineral water, balneological therapy with the help of spring-gas, climate therapy.
    14. Legislative framework of subsequent rehabilitation spa care provided, role of spa in secondary and tertiary prevention.

Teacher's information
The contact instruction is implemented through the system of tutorials on selected topics. The combined part of the studies is implemented in the e-learning course environment at e-portal http://elearning.fvp.slu.cz/. The students have study supports including correspondence tasks available for instruction there. The course is concluded by a credit in written or oral form; within it, the student will demonstrate knowledge of basic and recommended reading and be able to discuss the processed correspondence tasks. The student will have opportunity to consult individually the topics studied, through individual or group tutorials or electronic mail.
The credit will be granted in case of 80% attendance to lessons at the minimum and examining theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during lessons.
