- Course objectives
- The course is aimed at acquainting the students with findings and skills in the field of nursing care for patients in a dialysis program. Having finished the course, the students have a good grasp of the issues of nursing of patients in a dialysis program and they will be able to provide nursing care to dialyzed patients.
- Syllabus
- 1. Overview of blood purifying methods. Nursing care for patient with continual haemodialysis. Record keeping.
2. Technical prerequisites of haemodialysis.
3. Securing of vascular accesses and nursing care.
4. Nutrition of patients in haemodialysis program. Patients' / clients' bio-psycho-social problems.
5. Sanitary and epidemiological regime of nephrological wards.
6. Nursing care for patients / clients suffering from diabetes mellitus at haemodialysis. Nursing care for patient with peritoneal dialysis.
7. Education of patients / clients and their relatives.
8. Transplantation of kidneys.
9. Psycho-social attitude towards dialyzed patients.
