Course objectives
The course objective is to acquaint students with the issues of motor skills of the handicapped, sports and physical activities of disabled people and their practical use for a special pedagogue.
Learning outcomes
Professional Knowledge: Students know the basic concepts of motor disabilities.
Professional Skills: Students can use expert terminology.
General qualification: Students are well versed in the terminology and use acquired knowledge in practice.
Competences: Students will know the elements of sports and physical activities of disabled people employed in special pedagogy practice.

  • 1. Introduction to the subject of motor disabilities, the specifics of school physical education.
  • 2. Strategic documents, history, sports organization for people with disability.
  • 3. Modifications of school physical education for pupils with SEN.
  • 4. Physical and sports activities for people with physical disabilities.
  • 5. Physical and sports activities for people with visual disabilities.
  • 6. Physical and sports activities for people with hearing disabilities.
  • 7. Physical and sports activities for people with mental disabilities.
  • 8. The Paralympic movement.
  • 9. -12. Demonstrations of physical activities for disabled people.

The course can also be completed outside the examination period.
Teacher's information
Personal contact during instruction, consultation hours. During their studies, students use the study material to elaborate selected correspondence assignments. At the same time, students demonstrate knowledge of compulsory literature and of the in-person lectures. Students will be able to continuously consult the topics studied individually via e-mail, or in individual or team consultations upon request. The course has an LMS course which is used for electronic communication with the instructor and among students.
