Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present the helping profession as a risky profession where workers are at risk of developing various psychosomatic problems. The course will present the key problems of today, identify resources to successfully face these problems, and present selected relaxation techniques.
Learning outcomes
Professional knowledge: the student can define the key concepts related to the topic (stress and strain), can list adaptive and non-adaptive coping reactions, can list the key psychosomatic difficulties occurring in an individual.
Vocational skills: the student can identify specific stressors to which he/she is exposed, can also identify stressors arising from his/her profession, can identify non-adaptive coping responses used by the person.
Professional competences: the student can identify his/her own resources to resist these stressors and, as a result, improve the quality of his/her professional performance and achieve mental well-being for himself/herself and for his/her clients.
