- The goal is to teach students to work with domestic and foreign sources on the chosen topic, to work with literature, to present processed topics, to defend their opinions in a discussion.Suggest possible solutions to improve the situation on the labor markets.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the functioning of the labor market from the point of view of the implemented employment policy in the Czech Republic and selected countries of the European Union, to present selected (EU) labor markets and, using a few examples, to explain the fundamental strategy applied in the fight against unemployment and social exclusion. Attention is focused on the analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of the active employment policy, demographic impacts on the state of the workforce.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will learn to work with statistics, analyze study materials, evaluate and present opinions and recommended solutions based on the analyses.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction to the subject: definition of the aim and content of the subject, familiarization with literature and sources, definition of some terms and context 2. Legislation (laws, decrees, directives). 3. Labor market and employment policy in the Czech Republic 4. Labor market and employment policy in EU countries. 5. Unemployment, the rights and obligations of the unemployed, the role of the ÚP 6. Active and passive instruments of employment policy in the Czech Republic 7. Demographic and population situation, impacts on the state and level of the workforce in the economy 8. Quality of workforce, human capital 9. Labor market and employment policy, its solutions, long-term unemployment among selected groups of the population. 10. Migration, migration policy. 11. Foreigners on the labor market in the Czech Republic 12. Changes in the European labor market. 13. Current problems on the labor markets in the Czech Republic and the EU, summary
- Teaching methods
- Teaching will be conducted in the form of lectures and consultations on selected topics.
- Assessment methods
- The exam will take the form of a written test, before the exam the students will hand in the prepared essay, no later than two weeks before the start of the credit week.

- Consultations may take place during the course of the studies. For individual consultations, in addition to personal contact or e-mail, it is possible to use the MS Teams environment, where the student can discuss and ask questions about possible ambiguities and consult the fulfillment of the correspondence task, consult selected problem groups, or discuss students with each other.
