- Course objectives
- The course aim is to provide students a broader orientation in European history, changes of European society mentality of aspect of the multinational and transregional structures, concepts and projects of Europeanism. Students will meet with outlined chapters in the history of culture.

- 1. European Identity
2. Formation and difficulties of multinational civilizations in antiquity
3. Feudal Europe of the Christian Middle Ages (11th-13th centuries)
4. Times of crisis and finding solutions of European equilibrium (14th-17th centuries)
5. Relationship of Europeans to other civilizations in the Middle Ages and at the time of overseas discoveries
6. From absolutist states and the Enlightenment to the ideas of social freedom and fight for Napoleonic Europe (17th-18th centuries)
7. Modernization of Europe in the 19th century
8. On the road to self-destruction of Europe 1900-1918
9. A quarter century of European disintegration 1918-1945
10. The division of Europe after the Second World War (1945-1955)
11. Finding ways to build post-war Europe (50th-60th years)
12. The crisis of European systems of 70th and 80th years and reaction to it
