- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to provide the basic factual information so that the graduate will be able to orientate in the issue of self-government, which enable him/her better to establish the necessary contacts with these authorities. Self-government institutions, non-profit organizations and community-based organizations are often included in so-called non-business organizations. However, their management system must, as in the case of business organizations, fulfill their own social function and thus achieve the stated goals. Therefore, they have to respect and apply the same principles of management. Moreover, a lot of factors influence the functioning of these organizations, namely political and power ones. Therefore, theoretical and practical knowledge about the functioning of self-government in the Czech Republic is necessary, including possible managerial approaches, suitable for application in the conditions of municipal and regional management.
