- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the principles of effective communication with the media. By means of training the aim is to develop communication skills and improve the communication profile in public appearances in the media.

1. Introduction into communication with the media
Theory of communication with the media. The definition of communication, media, elements of communication. Specifics of communication with the media.
2. Media in the Czech Republic
The definition of media in the Czech Republic. The classification of the media in the Czech Republic. Development, present and future trends of the media in the Czech Republic.
3. Application of modern technologies in communication with the media
The characteristics of modern technologies and techniques used in communicating with the media. Their specifics and characterization.
4. Principles of communication with the media
The basics of communication, specifics of communication with the media.
5. Principles of a presentation in the media
Principles of a presentation. Creating presentations, training and practicing the preparation of the presentation in the media. Tips and advice for the rendition of professional presentations and its visualization.
6. Language instruments suitable for communication with the media
The selection of language instruments for communicating with the media. The selection of the appropriate vocabulary, using correct syntax, and other persuasive argumentation and language elements.
7. TV appearance - training for communicating different formats
Preparing for a TV show. Tips and advice for managing a TV show in terms of the content, communication and technical aspects.
8. Radio appearance - training for communicating different formats
The preparation for performances on the radio. Tips and advice for managing the radio performance in terms of content, communication and technical aspects.
9. Press conference, interview, discussion - training for communicating different formats
Preparing for performances at the press conference, interview or discussion. Tips and advice for managing press conferences, interview or discussion in terms of the of content, communication and technical aspects.
10. Crisis communication. Training in responding to unpleasant questions as a communication skill
Basic strategies, tactics and tricks. Preparing for coping with uncomfortable questions and tips and advice on how to work with them.
11. Public appearances - training of the selected public appearances in the media
The preparation for public performances. Tips and advice for managing public performances in terms of the content, communication and technical aspects.
12. Analysis of the selected presentations in the media
The practical analysis of existing presentations in the media. Discussion and preparation for one's own presentation.
13. Implementation and evaluation of one's own presentations in the media and getting feedback
Training one's own appearances in the media. The analysis and evaluation of individual performances. Recommendations for future appearances in the media.
