History with the focus on Czech and Czechoslovak history
Degree programme objectives
The goal of the study program is to provide higher education corresponding to the composition of subjects in the study plan. The study program provides education in the field of history, with a focus on Czech and Czechoslovakian history. The doctoral study program is aimed at developing independent scientific and creative activity in the field of historical science education with a focus on Czech and Czechoslovak history in the Central European context. Doctoral study is a follow-up degree of education for master's (follow-up) study programs in the field of Historical Science and serves to increase the qualifications of workers working at universities, museums, archives, heritage institutes and other memory institutions. It is intended for graduates of the faculties of philosophy or pedagogy, or other faculties of humanities, i.e. graduates of historical and related fields of study and programs, primarily in the field of Historical Science education. The study program responds to the ongoing need to ensure a larger number of especially younger workers with higher qualifications in the mentioned field.

- Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:
- Graduates master historical factography with a focus on Czech and Czechoslovakian history in the Central European context.
- Graduates are capable of independent scientific and prof. creative activity in the field of history with a focus on Czech and Czs. history, perceived in the Central European context, at a theor. and meth. level corresp. to the doctoral type of study.
- Graduates can reflect on foreign language historiography and apply, develop and verify its theses in a creative way.
- Graduates are able to find employment at universities, academic workplaces, professional and managerial positions in archives, museums and other memory institutions.
- As part of their specialization, they demonstrate the ability to contribute to current professional discussions in the field during and after their studies.
- Occupational Profiles of Graduates
A graduate can work as an independent specialist or researcher in scientific, memory and cultural institutions dealing with science, research and innovation (especially workplaces of the Academy of Sciences, archives, museums) - state, public and private sector. They can also find application in the field of tourism and in regional historical and cultural institutions and in the media sphere.
- Rules and Conditions for the Creation of a Study Plan
The study plan is organized by a credit system. The student must obtain a minimum of 180 credits in the course of his studies, in the sum of compulsory, compulsory optional (major) and compulsory optional (general) study subjects. The credit evaluation of the subjects and the way they are completed depends on the time and professional demands of the subject and the specifics of the field. The study program contains two study plans: for full-time and combined form of study.
