Degree programme specification

The aim of the study is to obtain a comprehensive philological education in the field of German studies. Emphasis is put not only on the complex insight into the structure and regularities of the German language and the building of professional philological competence, but also on acquiring communication skills that enable organic connection of theoretical and practical components of linguistic education.

Another aim is to acquire knowledge of the development and various forms of German written literature and to acquire skills in the field of interpretation of a literary text. At the same time, cultural plurality, which is a distinctive feature of both old and new German written literary texts, is accentuated.

Last but not least, the study is devoted to translation disciplines and a contrastive view of language, as well as didactic disciplines with respect to broadening the graduate profile and improving the quality of the graduate's readiness to enter the labour market.
