Abstract
This paper deals with looking for possible correlation between popularity and composition of the twentieth century novel, namely the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, Douglas Adams and J. K. Rowling. Using Gérard Genette’s typology of focalization, the aim of this paper is to analyse how the four chosen novels are focalized and whether or not they show any common features.
