The paper deals with geocaching, as an activity where modern technologies are used to search hidden treasures. The aim is to present geocaching in general and to evaluate the development of this activity in the Czech republic. The paper refers to possible influence of geocaching on tourism and also on possibilities of use of accommodation services, for example as animation activities for guests. Particular examples of use of geocaching, created as graduate works of students of Higher vocational school in Opava are mentioned in the article.
