Předkládaný příspěvek se zabývá vymezením vybraných mikroekonomických efektů odvětvové koncentrace firem podnikajících v sektoru Informačních a komunikačních technologií na daném území a definuje přínosy, resp. náklady, odvětvové koncentrace pro rozvoj ICT firem. Teoretickými východisky jsou zejména teorie "jádro-periferie" rozšířené o koncept sektorových aglomerací. Předpokládá se, že výrazně územně koncentrované odvětví transformované do sektorové aglomerace odvětvově totožných firem je charakteristické řadou síťových externalit ve smyslu kladných efektů plynoucích z kvalifikované pracovní síly, šíření inovací a přelévání znalostí, zkušeností a informací. Obecně tedy platí, že prohlubující se odvětvová specializace firem přispívá ke zvyšování regionální mikroekonomicko-odvětvové konkurenceschopnosti, která se následně transformuje do konkurenceschopnosti hospodářství a ekonomiky jako celku. Příspěvek se opírá o primární výzkum provedený mezi ICT firmami v Moravskoslezském a Jihomoravském kraji České republiky v letech 2016 a 2017 k vyjádření jejich postojů a názorů v kontextu odvětvové koncentrace s důrazem na konkrétní lokalizaci těchto firem v centrech analyzovaných regionů a mimo něj, tj. na periferii.

effects of the branch concentration of companies in the ICT sector of the given area, and defines the contributions, or rather costs, of the branch concentration for the development of ICT companies. The theoretical basis includes in particular "the core-periphery theory", extended by the concept of the sectoral agglomerations. It is assumed that a strongly territorially concentrated branch that transformed into the sectoral agglomeration of identical companies in terms of the branches is specific for a range of its network externalities such as positive effects resulting from a qualified workforce, spreading innovation and transferring knowledge, experience and information. Generally, it holds true that deepening of the branch specialization of the companies contributes to the increase in the regional microeconomic-branch competitiveness, which then transforms itself into the competitiveness of the economy as a whole. The contribution is based on the primary research performed among ICT companies in Moravskoslezský Region and Jihomoravský Region in the Czech Republic in 2016 and 2017 expressing their attitudes and opinions in the context of the branch concentration emphasizing the specific localization of these companies within the centres of the analysed regions, or on the outside, i.e. on the periphery.
