The paper emphasises the central importance of municipal strategic management. The aim of the contribution is to identify sovled priorities and deficiencies in strategic planning of municipalities within the Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. The paper suggests the improvement in the strategic plans based on an analysis of these plans and on a primary research.
