Práce je autorčiným zamyšlením nad vztahem mezi existencí a uplatňováním etických a morálních zásad v širším kontextu filozofie, informační vědy a měnícího se lidského vědomí na počátku 21. století. Reflexe se zabývá analýzou a vymezením nově se formující informační společnosti a to nejen z pohledu informační teorie či praxe. Hlavní část práce se věnuje otázkám definování etiky, kde je kladen velký důraz na pojetí etických principů v díle Aristotelově a některých dalších autorů. Práce se rovněž pokouší definovat pojem informační etiky a uvést jej do souvislostí současného světa informačních technologií, s odkazem na zásadní problémové okruhy informační etiky a jejich dopad na společnost. Závěrem autorka zdůrazňuje nutnost řešení nastolených etických problémů a nezbytnost stálého uvědomování si hrozby mravního rozpadu informační společnosti.

The article is an author´s reflections about the relationship between the existence and application ethical and moral principles in the wider context of philosophy, information science and changing human consciousness in the early 21 st century. Reflection deals with the analysis and definition of the newly formed information society, but not only from the perspective of information theory or practice. The main part of the work deals with issues of defining ethics, where great emphasis is placed on the concept of ethical principles in the work of Aristotle and some other authors. The work also attempts to define the concept of information ethics and bring it into the context of the contemporary world of information technology, referring to the major problem areas of information ethics and their impact on society. In conclusion, the author emphasizes the necessity of solving ethical problems raised by the need for a permanent awareness of the threat of moral decay of the information society.
